CHOREOGRAPHY

Photography by Walter Apps, "Continuous Cube," Performer - Laith Stevenson, Choreography by Rose Shields, Fall for Fall Dance Festival 2020

I have  been choreographing since I was little. Growing up in a family of 4 kids, I would put on performances with dance, music, and gymnastics alongside my siblings. After studying dance and gymnastics in my youth, I went on to receive my BFA in Dance Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure to choreograph on and with dancers and circus artists in Atlanta through Brooks & Company Dance, Core Dance, The Imperial OPA Circus, and my own projects. In 2010, I created an outdoor fundraiser dance performance in my hometown of Duluth, GA for Doctors Without Borders (MSF) involving 10 dance artists, 6 local businesses and the City of Duluth’s downtown green space. I enjoy combining my love for math and sciences, acrobatics, ballet, contemporary dance, and theatre to create performance works that speak to audiences in thoughtful, relatable, and enjoyable ways. I believe live dance and performance art speak to an audience in both a physical and metaphysical way that can inspire, inform, and connect fellow humans.
